How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations. Because we are a health and social care provider, some records must be kept for set periods under care-sector guidance. As a guide:

• Website enquiries that do not proceed to a placement or service — up to 12 months, then deleted.
• Care and support records (for people we support) — retained in line with adult social care retention guidance, which is normally 8 years after our involvement ends.
• Safeguarding records — retained for a minimum of 6 years after the case is closed, and significantly longer where required — for example where the records relate to a Safeguarding Adults Review or may be relevant to a future inquiry.
• Recruitment records for unsuccessful applicants — normally 6 to 12 months.
• Financial and statutory records — kept for the periods required by law (for example, 6 years for financial records).

These periods are kept under review and set out in our records management policy. When information is no longer needed, we dispose of it securely.

Your rights
